Emailed comments sent to Comments@newtownpa.gov during the meeting will be read aloud at the meeting. Please keep your comments as brief and to the point as possible. All public comment must contain the commenter’s name and address. You may also make comments if you attend in person.

- October 9, 2024, Board of Supervisors – Pedestrian Safety Public Comments, 2025 Budget Presentation, Awarding Crosswalk Improvement Project, September Police Report. The Township Manager said that numerous personnel and capital requests have been eliminated to avoid the need to increase taxes. These requests included:
- Additional Police Officers
- Additional Firefighters
- Additional Public Works Employees
- Zoning & Code Enforcement (Director), Information Technology (Director), Human Resources (Director)

Flourish Café, 2819 S. Eagle Road: Attorney Ed Murphy represented the applicant. Sweet Rhythm Bakery, d/b/a Flourish Café for conditional use approval for uses E-5 and E-6, eating place and eating place/take out at the location of the former Ko Restaurant in Village at Newtown. The Commission recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve this conditional use, subject to the condition that it comply with the review letter of CKS Engineering dated July 26, 2024.
Love and Honey Fried Chicken, 2820 S. Eagle Road: Mr. Murphy represented the applicant, MJ&TS Enterprises d/b/a Love and Honey Chicken. For conditional use approval for uses E-5 and E-6, eating place and eating place/take out at the location formerly housing Halal Guys at the Village at Newtown. The applicant indicated that the use will be primarily take-out, with very limited seating. The Commission recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve this use subject to compliance with the CKS review letter dated July 25, 2024.
Golden Girl, 2836 S. Eagle Road: Mr. Murphy represented the applicant, Golden Girl Fitness, d/b/a Bodywork Newtown, for conditional use approval for use C-6, athletic facility at the former Newtown Book Store location. This is a pilates studio. The Commission recommended that the Board approve this use, subject to compliance with the CKS review letter dated July 26, 2024.
JMZO Amendment LI/OLI Overlay: This amendment has been reviewed numerous times by the Commission and the Board. It has been revised so that all of the new uses added to the zoning district are by conditional use, not by right. The members recommend that the Board forward this amendment to our Jointure partners for adoption.
- July 16, 2024, Planning Commission – In this special meeting, Township Engineer Dominic Cundari, trained Commission members regarding stormwater management (see Stormwater Management Training document) and pointed out that the answers to many of the Commission questions are included in the Joint Municipal Zoning Ordinance (JMZO). Traffic issues and a need for Traffic Impact Studies that incorporate a broader perspective were also discussed.
